About the role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Debt Caseworker to join our charity and lead our debt advice work. You will play a key role in ensuring that our clients receive high-quality, compliant and person‑centred debt advice, while supporting and developing advisers across the service.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining specialist debt casework with practice leadership, focusing on quality, training and adviser development. You will play a key role in ensuring that clients receive high-quality, compliant and person‑centred debt advice, while supporting and developing advisers across the service.

This role is ideal for an experienced debt adviser who enjoys supporting others, improving practice and maintaining high professional standards, while remaining client-facing.

You will:
– Hold a caseload of complex debt cases, delivering high-quality, accredited advice.
– Act as a technical lead for debt advice practice within the service.
– Lead on induction, training, mentoring and ongoing development of debt advisers.
– Support quality assurance, case reviews and audit readiness.
– Contribute to service development and partnership working across Coventry.

You will have:
– Significant experience of delivering debt advice, including complex cases.
– Strong technical knowledge of priority and non‑priority debt, enforcement, insolvency options and vulnerability.
– Experience of mentoring, training, supervising or supporting other advisers.
– Excellent communication skills and a supportive, reflective approach to practice.
– An advice qualification (e.g. Certificate in Money Advice Practice or equivalent) or be willing to attain accreditation.

Contract options
The role is full-time (37 hours per week) but flexible working arrangements can be discussed to support the right candidate.
