Help people affected by gambling related harm to regain control of their finances and move towards a more secure future.
Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, deliver free treatment services across multiple regions of Great Britain and raise awareness of gambling harms through prevention programmes.
We’re looking for a Money Guidance Specialist and Engagement Lead to play a key role in delivering practical financial wellbeing support and raising awareness of the services available.
Working within our Money Guidance Service, you’ll provide tailored, non-regulated money guidance to individuals experiencing gambling-related financial difficulties. Managing your own caseload, you’ll deliver one-to-one support through telephone and video appointments, helping people understand their financial circumstances, explore their options and take positive steps towards greater financial wellbeing. You’ll also work closely with colleagues and specialist organisations to ensure individuals can access appropriate debt advice and wider support when needed.
Alongside your direct work with service users, you’ll lead engagement and awareness activities to extend the reach and impact of the service. From developing and delivering training and presentations to building relationships with external organisations, you’ll help professionals better understand gambling-related financial harm and the support available. You’ll also contribute to service improvements, helping us develop effective resources and approaches that respond to the changing needs of the people we support.
About you
We’re looking for someone with experience in money guidance, debt advice or supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs, who can combine financial knowledge with empathy, sound judgement and strong communication skills. You’ll be confident managing a caseload, assessing individual needs and delivering sensitive, person-centred support, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and safeguarding standards.
You’ll also bring experience of designing and delivering engaging training, presentations or awareness sessions, together with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. Organised, proactive and comfortable working independently, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s financial wellbeing while helping to develop and promote an important specialist service.
